Measuring and Umpiring

Measuring is an important skill that is used to decide shots and possibly the winner of a game. The Measurers course run by Bowls ACT will provide players with the skills to measure accurately and to use a wide range of measuring equipment as well as the knowledge of the Laws of the Sport of Bowls that relate to measuring. A qualified measurer may be used to determine the closest bowl for players. Please contact Bowls ACT on 6257 3560 or the Bowls ACT: www.bowlsact.org.au where the annual calendar of events will give proposed dates of courses.

Umpires are scheduled for championship and Pennants events. An umpire is able to measure when players have not been able to determine the closest bowl, or to make a ruling based on the Laws of the Sport of Bowls. Please contact Bowls ACT on 6257 3560 or the Bowls ACT: www.bowlsact.org.au where the annual calendar of events will give proposed dates of courses.
